• Connect the connector of the power supply to the router and the power supply to a(n) (electric wall) socket.
• Follow the signal lights of the router: after the power-up, the signal lights flash for a moment. The signal light on the left indicates that the device is on. The next signal light indicates that the device is sending a wireless signal.
• Connect the router to the Kortex network by connecting the network cable to the router’s WAN connector and from the other end to the contact socket in the junction box on the wall.
  • In the junction box, there is typically only one contact socket that is connected; check the junction box instructions.
  • When you have found the right connection socket in the junction box, the second signal light to the right in the router will light up (WAN).

• Connect your computer with the network cable to the router’s available port (1-4) if you do not use a wireless connection between the router and your computer.
• The router’s corresponding LAN signal light (1-4) should light up if your computer is on.
• If everything went right, you can now access the Internet.
• You can connect three other devices through cable, one for each free port.

Y * ou can freely connect devices to the router wirelessly, also when there are devices connected to the router through a cable.

• Make sure that the router’s WLAN signal light is on. If not, check the position of the on/off switch on the back of the device.
• You can connect the router with WPS quick steps (shortcut) (check the manual) or by choosing this network’s SSID identifier from the wireless networks your computer detects. The identifier begins with TP-LINK_ and the end consists of the six last digits of the device’s MAC address (MAC can be found on the sticker on the bottom of the device). After you have chosen the right SSID, the router will ask for a PIN code; it can also be found on the sticker on the bottom of the device. We do not recommend using the WPS function, as with some brands (of devices) there have been security breaches/data security flaws concerning the function.
• Please note that you or the previous user of the router might has changed the SSID or the PIN code. If you do not remember them, you can restore the router to its initial settings (RESET) with the instructions of the manual. When you have a connection to the router either wirelessly or through cable, you can change the SSID and the PIN code according to your wishes; check the instructions from the

* The Internet connection does not work even though the aforementioned settings seem to be in order:

• Apply the instructions meant for network outages.
• Check the router’s state:
• Login to the router’s control interface: http://tplinklogin.net or http://192.168.0.1
• the username and password are both ‘admin’ by default and you can change them if you wish.
• After log-in, you will see a long menu on the left side, choose the top option, i.e. Status
• Look up the section on WAN from the Status information, and from that IP Address;
• it should start with 130.234. etc. if your router is registered
• it should start with 192.168.1xx.yyy if your router has not yet been registered (in the “1xx” part the values are between 170 and 186.
• if the section on IP Address cannot be found or it is something else than the aforementioned options, the router does not have a connection to the Kortex network.
• Look up the section on Wireless in the Status information
• the line Wireless Radio should be Enable if you want to connect to the router wirelessly.
• the line Name (SSID) shows you the identifier of the router’s wireless network.
