WAN port
WAN (Wide Area Network) connects the local area networks and other limited local networks into larger entities, the internet being the largest entity.
The WAN port is a port in the router, into which the internet connection of the internet service provider is meant to be connected. The router will then share the connection with other devices in the network. In the Kortex network, the wire of which the other end is put into the junction box on the wall should be put into the WAN port of the router. The WAN port in routers is usually a different colour than the LAN ports (often blue in colour) and therefore easy to detect. It is also often slightly apart from the LAN ports.
It should be noted that the WAN port is also found in ADSL routers but they cannot be used as Student Village routers.
